Cuban Customs

For tourists entering Cuba carrying more than $5000 or more, you must fill out the Customs Declaration form.

Cuban customs officials are clearly marked with the customs emblem on the left sleeve along with the word "Aduana" on the left shirt pocket.

Import duties and services for clearance are to be paid at the Cuban Customs office.

You are strongly advised to do the following to ensure an efficient process through customs:

  • Fill out the Passengers Customs Declaration form completely and accurately
  • Pack medicines together so they are visible
  • Do not bring more than $5000 cash into Cuba
  • Do not bring forbidden articles
  • Do not bring articles subject to permits or authorizations without proper paperwork
  • Do not bring excessive quantities of the same items as this may give the appearance that these items are for sale
  • Tell the Customs agent if you are sharing luggage with any person or group
